Jamie Foxx may be taking legal action after a recent altercation left him injured during his birthday celebration.
According to reports from TMZ, the Oscar-winning actor, who turned 57 this month, was struck in the mouth by a glass during a heated exchange at Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills. The incident occurred on Dec. 13 as Foxx celebrated with close friends, family members, including his daughters Corinne and Anelise Foxx, and his ex-partner Kristin Grannis.
What Went Down
Witnesses claim the trouble began when another group of diners allegedly started being “rude and vulgar” toward Foxx and his party. When Foxx reportedly asked them to stop, tensions flared, and someone from the opposing group allegedly threw a glass, hitting Foxx in the face.
The actor sustained an injury severe enough to require stitches, sources say. Though Foxx left the restaurant before Beverly Hills police arrived, he’s reportedly cooperating with law enforcement and intends to press charges against the person responsible.
Police Statement
The Beverly Hills Police Department (BHPD) confirmed responding to the altercation but clarified that the initial report of an assault with a deadly weapon was unfounded. Instead, their investigation determined it was a physical altercation that escalated into an act of battery.
“No arrests were made,” the BHPD stated in a news release. “The department has completed a report documenting the incident.”
Foxx Speaks Out
Jamie Foxx appeared to address the incident on social media, posting a message to reassure his fans and subtly acknowledge the situation:
“The devil is busy… but I’m too blessed to be stressed,” Foxx wrote on Instagram. “The devil is a lie. Can’t win here… thank you to everybody that pray and check on me… when your light is shining bright… they try to bring you darkness … but they don’t know that you’re built for it…”
Seeking Accountability
An insider close to Foxx told TMZ that the actor hopes to see justice served, believing the individual who threw the glass should face consequences to discourage similar behavior in the future.
