Hip-hop legend Eminem is betting big on Kendrick Lamar at next year’s Grammy Awards, predicting the Compton MC will sweep all seven categories in which he’s nominated.
During a candid conversation with DJ Whoo Kid on Shade45 last week, Slim Shady didn’t hold back his admiration for Kendrick, who leads the way for hip-hop at the 67th Grammy Awards, set to take place on February 2.
“Kendrick is gonna sweep that sh*t. He’s going to, and he should,” said Eminem, a 15-time Grammy winner himself.
Kendrick’s Stellar Year
Kendrick Lamar’s dominance this awards season is anchored by his chart-topping single, “Not Like Us,” which is up for several top honors, including:
- Song of the Year
- Best Rap Performance
- Best Rap Song
- Record of the Year
- Best Music Video
Additionally, Kendrick’s collaboration with Future and Metro Boomin on “Like That” earned nods for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song, cementing his status as one of the year’s most celebrated artists.
Eminem’s Recognition and Rivalry
Eminem himself is competing against Kendrick in the Best Rap Performance category, thanks to his latest album The Death of Slim Shady. Despite the competition, Em is clear about his stance: Kendrick is in a league of his own.
“It’s very stiff competition,” Em admitted. “Kendrick is at the very, very top tier of lyricists—not just of this generation, but of all time.”
This isn’t the first time Eminem has praised Kendrick. Back in 2022, the Detroit rapper called him one of the greatest lyricists ever and joined him on stage for the Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, and 50 Cent.
