Hip-hop artists Coi Leray and Trippie Redd started 2025 by sharing news of their upcoming parenthood.
On Wednesday, January 1st, 2025, the pair used Instagram to announce they’re having a baby together. Leray, who is 27, shared a series of photos featuring her pregnancy bump, an illustration of Disney’s Stitch character with “Mommy” written above it, and pictures showing Redd cradling her belly.
The Lemon Cars artist wrote beneath the images: “I’m a rock star mommy, we ready for 2025”
Leray and Redd had a brief romantic relationship in 2019 before reuniting in August 2024 after approximately five years apart. During their separation, Redd released a song titled “Leray” about his former girlfriend on his 2019 mixtape, A Love Letter to You 4. Leray later referenced Redd in her 2023 track “Isabel Marant.”
When asked about Redd’s 2019 song during a No Jumper interview that year, Leray dismissed it, calling it “bullshit.”
“Initially, I wasn’t happy about it. It was like, what the fuck, because I always believed we had something genuine beyond music,” Leray explained at around 48 minutes into the interview. “So I’m thinking, if you’ve got something to say, let’s meet up and you can tell me face to face… I felt like I was being used for clickbait.”
In September, during an impromptu interview with TMZ, Redd shared that he initiated their reconnection by sending Leray a direct message. The Genre: Sadboy collaborator stated, “We just been talking. That’s my boo.”
