Kim Kardashian paid tribute to her former husband with an Instagram post to begin the new year.
The reality star shared a throwback post from her 2012 Instagram Story featuring a photo of sunglasses next to Advil, with the caption quoting, “Sunglasses & Advil…last night was mad trill.” The text referenced her ex-husband’s lyrics.
The quote originated from Ye’s verses on the opening song “No Church in the Wild” from his collaborative album with Jay-Z, Watch the Throne, released in 2011.
In the song’s second verse, Ye’s lyrics describe the aftermath of an intense night of celebration, including references to early morning hours and seeking transportation.
Kim also used Instagram to document her family’s holiday celebration on New Year’s Eve, sharing photos that included her children North, Chicago, Saint, and Psalm, along with other family members like Kris Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian with her son Mason, and Khloé’s son Tatum.
Ye was not present in any of the holiday photographs. In a mid-November conversation, Kim spoke about his limited involvement in their children’s upbringing.
During her appearance on the What in the Winkler? podcast, she expressed her reluctance to discuss the topic, stating that people often criticize her access to childcare resources. She added that despite having assistance, she essentially functions as a single parent to their four children.
