The rap mogul hit Instagram on New Year’s Day to poke fun at Ye’s wild deposition video that’s been making waves. The footage, now part of A&E’s new show ‘Interrogation Raw: Celebrity Under Oath,’ shows a masked-up Ye losing it on a lawyer back in 2020.
The drama stems from MyChannel Inc.’s lawsuit against Ye and Yeezy for allegedly swiping their tech. During the Zoom deposition, Ye went off the rails, giving viewers quite the show.
50 jumped on the bandwagon, sharing a clip of Ye rocking a face mask while screaming at attorney Michael Popok. He captioned it: “I’m down with some of Yeezy’s moves, but this ain’t my style. Can’t wrap my head around why he does it. LOL.”
The clip opens with Ye asking his legal team if he could face jail time, but lawyer Popok jumps in: “Only answer my question.”
“No I’m asking,” Ye immediately fires back. “Ekwan, can I go to jail off of anything related to this lawsuit?”
When Popok tells him he’s not “there to ask questions,” it sets Ye off.
“What do you mean I can’t ask my lawyer a question?!? You crazy?” Kanye said. “You don’t know who you talking to. I’m not some slave of yours, boy. What do you mean I can’t ask my lawyer no question? That’s the dumbest sh*t.”
The drama keeps rolling as Ye ignores requests to get off his phone and challenges certain questions. Things hit another level when they ask him to list what’s in his room.
“Are you stupid?” he said. “I don’t have time to be talking about, yeah, I got a chair in the room. You are talking to the richest Black person in the history of America.”
The $20 million legal battle wrapped up in 2021 after Ye and MyChannel agreed to drop it.
