Jay-Z Demands Dismissal and Penalties Following Disputed Sexual Assault Case

Jay-Z’s lawyers say this case has got to go, and they want consequences.

According to Rolling Stone, Jay’s attorney Alex Spiro wants sanctions against the anonymous woman’s lawyer, Tony Buzbee. They’re claiming Buzbee didn’t properly check out his client’s story before filing the suit, which accuses both Jay and Diddy of sexually assaulting a teenage girl back in 2000.

Complex got a look at the new court docs, where Jay’s team points out several holes in Jane Doe’s story. They’re backing this up with some interesting evidence: an old Eminem MTV performance from 2000, Buzbee’s appearance on The Chris Hansen Show, a TMZ Diddy documentary, and the accuser’s NBC News interview.

During that NBC sit-down, the anonymous accuser admitted to “making mistakes” when questioned about inconsistencies in her claims. Jay’s denied everything, calling Buzbee a “fraud” and “ambulance chaser in a cheap suit.” Diddy’s also saying it never happened.

When Complex reached out Wednesday, Buzbee fired back, saying Jay’s legal moves “reek of desperation.”

Complex hit up Spiro’s team too – we might get more updates on this. Back in December, Spiro stressed how unlikely the allegations were and accused Buzbee of trying to capitalize on the situation.

“Mr. Carter’s got nothing to do with Mr. Combs or his case,” Spiro said then, explaining their relationship was strictly business.

In December, Jay’s team also accused Buzbee of misconduct and extortion attempts, which Buzbee denied. This case is separate from Diddy’s racketeering and trafficking charges that got him arrested in November – that trial’s expected to start later this year.
