Meek Mill spoke up about the devastating wildfires hitting Los Angeles.
The rapper took to X on Wednesday with a message for those affected by what the Associated Press is calling the “most destructive” wildfires in LA history. Meek shared his own connection to fire-related trauma, revealing that his house once burned down, leaving him with lasting PTSD.
“Prayers to la I never knew about fire trauma until my house caught on fire…. I was smelling fire in my sleep jumping up for 3 years… I didnt know that type of trauma existed, so I was just dealing with it as a kid,” Meek wrote. “Prayers to the family’s experiencing that first hand!”
Over 70,000 LA residents were forced to evacuate this week as four wildfires, fueled by Santa Ana winds, ripped through the area. Thousands of firefighters battled the blazes.
LA County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone reported that the fires have already destroyed more than 1,000 buildings and claimed two lives. Videos taken by locals showed parts of LA looking like scenes from an apocalyptic movie.
