Joe Budden shared how he cleared his name in a lewdness case where his neighbor accused him of trying to get into her place while naked.
Around 16:30 in his latest podcast episode, he broke down his recent show absence and the whole situation. He said these “racist” neighbors had been complaining about everything for months.
On December 4, security footage caught Budden sleepwalking and attempting to punch in door codes at his neighbor’s place while nude. He’s talked about his sleepwalking before, but this was his first courtroom drama over it.
“They misused systems meant for real victims,” he said at 19:30. “Told police I was outside their door masturbating, maybe planning to ‘r-word’ her and her family. What was just sleepwalking turned real serious. Been off the pod a month dealing with this civil case.”
He shared that his “Karen” neighbor hit the stand day one, instant “white girl tears.” The suit claimed stalking and lewdness – which needs proof of getting naked for sexual pleasure.
“She made up stuff about me masturbating at her door – like I can’t find better spots for that,” he added. “Her testimony claimed I was fully erect. That became a huge deal in court.”
He considered bringing his doctor but didn’t want to drag it out. Instead, his girlfriend testified about his state of arousal, cracking up his co-hosts. He called her on air to joke about it: “Was he flacid?” She shot back, “No way!” He laughed, “I’m a grower, not a show-er.”
He appreciated the fair judge who ruled: “Mr. Budden wasn’t erect or masturbating. When he touched himself, looks like he was covering up. Wasn’t trying to break in… She was fair, listened well, and kept it real.”
