Former Da Band member Chopper spills tea about a time Diddy got aggressive with Freddy P during ‘Making the Band.’
Speaking with ‘The Art of Dialogue,’ Chopper backed up Freddy P’s story from last year. “Diddy threatened his life,” he revealed. “Told him he was going to kill him. Fred got smart with Diddy and Diddy wasn’t having it. He made MTV cut the cameras and clear the room.”
Chopper kept it real about what went down: “We was just sitting there watching Diddy go off. He told Fred, ‘I will buy your whole block and move everybody out the neighborhood. Every time you walk out the house, I’ll have somebody shooting at you.'”
“That’s what made Fred bounce from the band,” Chopper added. “Fred was ready to smoke that dude right there.”
When Freddy broke his silence last year, he painted the full picture: “One day I woke up in a mood. I’m in the studio snapping. I wasn’t trying to be bothered,” Freddy explained. “You know how it is when you’re a street dude surrounded by cornballs – sometimes you just can’t deal with the nerds. I was in there frustrated about everything.”
“So we get into it,” Freddy continued. “In front of everyone he’s like ‘Man, what you think you bout it or something?’ Then hits me with ‘I’ll buy every house on your block, shut every light off in that bitch, and every time you come out that bitch you’ll get popped.’ When someone tells you that, you start seeing it play out – him buying every crib, all the lights going dark – that shut me up real quick.”
Freddy admitted he later plotted on Diddy: “I was trying to take his ass out. Me and my dog – rest his soul – had a G Wagon ready. He had his pieces, I had my little pistol. I had the Mac too, and we were posted up waiting for his punk ass to step out.”
