T-Pain’s got beef with the ‘SpongeBob’ theme and he’s finally letting it all out on TikTok.
The two-time Grammy winner dropped a video Friday (Jan. 10) titled “I do not care of the SpongeBob theme song,” blasting the classic tune (performed by Patrick Pinney as Painty the Pirate with a kids’ chorus) as straight up “trash.” Even though the song’s been around almost 26 years, the “Buy U a Drank” hitmaker’s been holding onto these feelings and finally went off during a livestream.
“Now let’s go back and listen to these fuckin’ kids,” T-Pain kicked off his rant. “Bro, no, don’t even worry about the beginning of it.”
After trying to mimic the tune, T-Pain kept asking about the kids’ singing “key” before deciding the Nickelodeon hit is straight up painful to his ears.
“Fuck these kids, my n***a” he joked around. “Like, straight up and down–What are y’all doing, bro? You’re ruining the song. You’re just scream–they’re screaming!”
T-Pain might’ve had flashbacks to his own 2010 Adult Swim cartoon ‘Freaknik: The Musical,’ where he linked up with music heavyweights like CeeLo Green, Kelis, Rick Ross and Snoop Dogg for voice acting.
T-Pain dropped some exciting news during a 2022 ‘Posted on the Corner’ interview at Dreamville Fest – he’s cooking up a ‘Freaknik’ sequel.
