Elon Musk keeps saying he’s a top-tier gamer, but gamers aren’t buying it after watching his Path of Exile 2 livestream.
Vice reports that during his recent stream, Musk started by rambling about AI and SpaceX before showing he didn’t really get how the game works. He tried getting into a map he couldn’t actually access yet, and when he finally got playing, he had some suspiciously good gear that viewers think someone else set up.
Though Musk steamrolled through with his high-end equipment, fans spotted his stash tab labeled “Elon’s Map,” hinting someone might’ve prepped the account for him.
“This is max difficulty on Hardcore. If there’s a way to get higher difficulty, I don’t know what it is. This is everything maxed out,” Musk bragged to viewers, showing off. He also made a big deal about how tough the game was while struggling with basic inventory management.
After the stream, viewers started questioning if Musk really earned that high-level character himself.
“I can say after watching an hour of this livestream that I would put, like, $100,000 or more on a bet… that Elon did not level this character from level 1 to level 90 himself,” YouTuber Cynicalex claimed.
Besides Path of Exile 2, Musk also plays other games. Last year, he technically hit number one in Diablo 4 rankings.
Reporter Joseph Cox, who previously broke down why Musk’s Elden Ring build was terrible, told Gizmodo that the Tesla boss kept missing valuable loot and didn’t seem to understand basic game mechanics.
“His constant emphasizing in the stream that what he is doing is very, very difficult while seemingly not understanding what he’s actually doing is incredibly on brand for the attention and love desperate Musk,” Cox added.
People on X (formerly Twitter), Musk’s own platform, weren’t any nicer. Check out some reactions below.
