Metro Boomin had a scary moment in Miami when his rented yacht reportedly caught fire, TMZ says.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue reports the fancy boat docked behind Booby Trap strip club around 3:30 AM and burst into flames just 15 minutes later. According to Local News 10, someone caught a whiff of smoke from the vessel, and Booby Trap staff helped evacuate 10 guests, including Metro, plus 5 crew members.
“Around 3 o’clock the boat arrived, it was Metro Boomin,” shared Michael Marhefka, Booby Trap on the River’s Security Director. “The boat pulled up and they were on the boat maybe 30 minutes at the dock and we noticed what sounded like fire alarms going off. When we looked at the boat we did see some smoke inside the boat. We made the determination to evacuate the boat immediately.”
Video of the scene showed folks hanging around the damaged boat, talking to reporters and still partying. After getting everyone off, firefighters battled the blaze until the yacht went down in the Miami River around 7 a.m.
Everyone made it out safe, and they’re still looking into what started the fire. The yacht’s still tied up at the dock while officials figure out how to get it out of there.
