Travis Kelce addressed Lil Wayne’s accusations on the newest New Heights podcast episode with his brother.
“The whole world was talking about something else during the game, and I’m sure you saw some of this, but they were complaining about the refs again, Trav,” Jason Kelce said. “Even Lil Wayne. Lil Wayne wrote, ‘I hate the cheating ass Chiefs. Ass with two Zz.'”
“Shout out to Tunechi, man,” Travis laughed when his brother read the tweet around 18:30 in the video above.
Wayne had posted “I hate the cheating azz Chiefs” and followed up with “It’s not even impressive when u cheat and then clearly try to cheat. Just win baby.”
When Jason read more tweets bashing the Chiefs and refs, Travis just said, “I’d like to plead the fifth.”
The game had some controversial ref calls, with two penalties against the Texans’ defense that some say helped the Chiefs win.
Texans coach DeMeco Ryans hinted at his suspicions: “We knew going into this game, man, it was us versus everybody,” he told NBC Sports.
The win clearly didn’t sit well with Wayne, who’s always backed the Green Bay Packers.
The Chiefs are now set to battle the Buffalo Bills Sunday for the AFC Championship, after the Washington Commanders take on the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship Game.
