Ty Dolla Sign reveals more music’s in store with Ye.
Speaking during Paris Fashion Week, the artist dropped news about multiple upcoming releases, not just their joint effort. “Vultures 3 on the way, Bully on the way and my new album, Tycoon, on the way,” he announced. “Let’s go.”
Ty Dolla Sign and Ye launched Vultures last February after several pushbacks. They’d planned to release Vultures 2 in March and wrap up the trilogy in April.
Vultures 2 finally dropped in August following its own delays – one sparked by Ye’s stance that streaming was theft. In March, footage surfaced of Ye chatting with YEFANATICS fan page about his streaming concerns.
“Was talking with the team about how to release the next album. Like James Blake said streaming devalues our music. We sell albums on Yeezy.com,” Kanye said. “I got 20 million Instagram followers. When five percent of my followers buy an album. That’s one million albums sold That’s 300K more than the biggest album last year.”
“We sold 1 million items on Yeezy.com on Super Bowl Sunday so we know it’s possible,” Ye added. “How do you feel about us not streaming and only selling the album digitally.”
The wait for Vultures 3 keeps going. Back in September, Ty Dolla Sign hinted at the album’s completion when he commented on producer 88 Keys’ Instagram live, writing “V3 bouta rip heads off.”
Fans are left wondering if Vultures will drop ahead of Ye’s upcoming album Bully. He first mentioned this new project during a Vultures listening party in Haikou, China last September. Since then, we’ve seen studio clips, heard talk that he handled all the production, and gotten a glimpse of the album cover from Ye himself.
