Rihanna Warns Artists Not to Write Her a ‘Corny’ Love Track: ‘Trust Me, I’ve Seen It’

Rihanna’s throwing shade at cheesy love songs in her latest Savage X Fenty Valentine’s Day promo.

In the clip, RiRi plays a quick-fire game answering either-or questions like “Galentine’s or Valentine’s” and “getaway or stay-at-home.” Fun fact: she thinks staying home can actually count as a getaway!

When it comes to picking between a “love song” or “love letter,” though, RiRi’s reaction says it all. With an “ugh,” she makes her stance crystal clear.

“Please never make me a love song,” she declared. “That is corny. Trust me. I’ve seen it.”

Of course, the internet immediately started buzzing about Drake, given their history of song references over the years, including his 2023 track “Fear of Heights.” Check out more of RiRi’s takes in the full video below.

Speaking of love songs though, RiRi’s dropped quite a few herself, like “Love on the Brain” from Anti and “We Found Love” from Talk That Talk. Speaking of Anti, it’s still her latest album – fans have been waiting nine whole years for new music! The game-changing record actually turns nine today, Jan. 28.
