Katy Perry’s close call with flying electrical sparks was caught on camera as she signed autographs for her fans following her Jimmy Kimmel Live! appearance Wednesday.
As the pop star greeted fans along the barricade after the show, someone bumped into a transformer, causing chaos.
The viral clip shows sparks shooting toward the singer – ironically reminiscent of her smash hit “Fireworks” – but she managed to duck away fast. Perry walked away from the incident without injury.
“She was fine,” a witness shared with Entertainment Tonight. “As soon as it sparked, they pulled her away and put her in the car. She rolled down the window and kept talking to fans.”
TMZ reports one fan’s coat briefly caught fire after being hit by the sparks, but nobody got seriously hurt.
The star was on Jimmy Kimmel Live! hyping up her The Lifetimes Tour, which starts April 23 in Mexico City and wraps up Nov. 7 in France.
