Ye reveals that he skipped Trump’s swearing-in ceremony after being pressured to say sorry for his antisemitic remarks

Ye, formerly Kanye West, didn’t show up at Donald Trump’s big day after being pushed to apologize again for his antisemitic comments.
TMZ got their hands on some footage from an unaired chat between Ye and Justin LaBoy on The Download podcast. The episode played at a Grammys after-party Sunday where Ye was hanging out.
“I was gonna go to the inauguration until [I was told] I had to write another apology, saying yeah, that I wasn’t … what’s the word?” Ye said.
“Antisemitic,” LaBoy filled in when Ye acted like he couldn’t remember the word.

Kanye’s got a history of controversial Jewish comments, from threatening to go “death con 3 on Jewish people” to talking about the “Jewish underground media mafia” and even praising Hitler, saying he sees “good” in him.
At a Vultures listening party last December, YesJulz caught him on video going off about Hitler and Zionists. After it blew up online, Ye dropped an apology.
“I sincerely apologize to the Jewish community for any unintended outburst caused by my words or actions, it was not my intention to hurt or disrespect, and I deeply regret any pain I may have caused,” he posted on Instagram.
“I am committed to starting with myself and learning from this experience to ensure greater sensitivity and understanding in the future. Your forgiveness is important to me, and I am committed to making amends and promoting unity.”
He later referenced the drama in Vultures‘ title track with the line “How I’m anti-Semitic? I just fucked a Jewish bitch.”
The chat with Justin also hit on the Kendrick-Drake beef, with Ye backing Kendrick hard: “If you rap against Kendrick, you will lose. This man does this.”
Still, Ye showed Drake love, comparing him to Steph Curry and giving him props for his impact.
“You can’t ever count out Steph Curry. That man might get 200 points in one song or something,” Ye said. “You know what it was is, like, look at the Tyler, the Creator freestyle that he did. ‘That Guy,’ right? Drake added something to the algorithm, to our frequency. He advanced us. Future advanced us. And now, Kendrick has advanced the frequency.”
Ye’s getting ready to drop his solo album Bully on June 15 – his daughter North West’s birthday, according to TMZ. It’ll be his first solo project since Donda came out in 2021.
