DJ Khaled just dropped a wild 7-minute action movie trailer for his 14th album, Aalam of God, starring Mark Wahlberg and Anthony Ramos. You can catch it below.
The Grammy winner hit fans with the action-packed teaser on Tuesday. The plot? Khaled’s playing defense, protecting a mysterious briefcase containing his new album. Wahlberg steps in as the bad guy who’s trying to snag the album by getting Ramos, who plays Khaled’s friend, to do his dirty work.
Eif Rivera directed this high-octane trailer where we see Khaled dodging bullets, making a dramatic building leap, and jumping into a getaway car with Ramos behind the wheel. Meanwhile, Wahlberg’s chopping it up with his crew about Khaled having “two Drake songs” and maybe scoring “another fucking 100-bar verse” from Jay-Z.
The trailer wraps up with an action-packed finale and an emotional scene between Khaled and Ramos, ending with Khaled making a call saying, “Send Rihanna the record.”
Khaled hit up social media comparing his new project to Jay-Z’s masterpiece and confirmed Drake and Rihanna are in the mix, saying: “This not my last album this my black album JAY VOICE […] DRAKES BACK TO WORK… SO AM I! THIS THE ONE WITH DRAKES […] @ayojuan matter of fact..send that record over to @badgalriri .. u know…I JUST WANNA BREATHE – THE AIR THAT RIHANNA BREATHES – yo RIH everyTING locked.”
Aalam of God marks Khaled’s first drop in three years since God Did, which featured Jay’s killer verse on the title track and Drake showing up twice – on the opener “No Secret” and teaming up with Lil Baby on “Staying Alive.”
