Pete Davidson opened up about ditching his ink during his latest chat on Late Night With Seth Meyers.
About five minutes into Thursday’s show (Feb. 6), Meyers brought up Davidson’s plans to wipe away his tattoos, something he’s talked about before. Back in 2021, he told People he wanted them gone by 30. After getting sober last month, he told Today he’s ready to say goodbye to his 100-plus tats, and he doubled down with Meyers.
“When I’m 40, it’ll all be gone,” the ex-SNL funny man declared. “Like the chest and back.”
Each piece needs “at least seven visits” to remove, though he says black and white ones come off easier than the colored ones.
When asked which tats he’s most stoked to remove, Davidson said “all of them,” explaining he got them before hitting rehab.
“I got a collection of cartoons smoking blunts,” he shared. “A Muppet smoking a blunt and the Tootsie Pop owl smoking a blunt–which is weird ’cause I wasn’t even old enough to be around for that cartoon, that commercial.”
Speaking of awkward moments, Davidson spilled about his SNL audition in the NBC and Peacock special SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night.
“Lorne’s there, [Steve] Higgins, maybe one or two other…Like, five people. But they’re blacked out,” Davidson recalled. “You can’t see them. So, you’re doing your whole act to no one. And once in a while, you’ll hear like, ‘heh.’ And that’s about all I got.”
