Rob Lowe just dropped a wild story about MJ wanting to copy his facial features.
During his chat on Jimmy Kimmel Live! while promoting his show The Floor, Lowe spilled the tea about his connection to the pop legend (around the 11-minute mark). “I had worked with Janet so I knew the family a little bit,” said Lowe.
He then shared a bizarre encounter with a doctor about his face. “I was approached by a plastic surgeon and he said he was Michael’s surgeon,” revealed Lowe. “He told me that Michael requested my chin.”
Turns out Lowe’s chin was actually trending in plastic surgery. “It turns out for a brief shining moment in the 80s, it was the most requested chin,” alleged Lowe. The actor also chatted about his first paid gig – a Super Bowl commercial back in 1997. “It was the first commercial ever made just for the Super Bowl,” Lowe said. “I was basically an extra in it … I only saw it once in 1977.”
He laughed about how hyped he was over that tiny role. “You would have thought I had gotten on Saving Private Ryan, I thought it was the biggest thing,” he said.
For ’80s movie buffs, Lowe dropped news about teaming up with Demi Moore for a St. Elmo’s Fire sequel. “We’re gonna see what those people are doing at our ages now. When we did the original, we were on the cover of Rolling Stone,” Lowe joked. “Now we’re gonna be on the cover of AARP.”
Last year, Lowe shared stories about boxing with Tom Cruise during The Outsiders filming in ’83. “He’s so competitive that we used to box in the hallway of the hotel we were staying during Outsiders,” he explained. “So much testosterone, we’re 18-year-old guys right, stuck on location.
“So we would wear headgear, and we’d have mouthpieces in, but we would legitimately spar and I just remember Tom was jacked,” Lowe continued. “I’m like a pipe cleaner arm, I hadn’t started working out yet, okay, so I look like Karen Carpenter.”
