Plaqueboymax is breaking down his issues with Kendrick’s Super Bowl LIX show performance.
The streamer, who watched the show live in New Orleans, mainly had beef with K-Dot performing the Drake diss track “Not Like Us.” The Grammy-sweeping song came near the end of Kendrick’s set, which started with an unreleased track before jumping into GNX‘s “Squabble Up.”
“Kendrick, you’re way bigger than this,” Max said in the clip below. “I’m gonna keep it so a buck. This is the Super Bowl. What, he probably gon’ do this one time? Bro ,he better than just a na who dissed Drake. He’s way better than just a na who dissed Drake. That should not be this n***a’s career. I don’t even wanna see Drake fall.”
Max then listed some classics he wanted to hear instead – 2012’s “Money Trees” and 2015’s “Alright.” Though he did admit the crowd went crazy when “Not Like Us” started playing Sunday.
“N***as was singing that ‘A minor’ shit like a bitch,” he said. “But yeah, the halftime show, that wasn’t it to me. I’mma keep it a buck. Did y’all fuck with it? That shit wasn’t it to me. I feel like he could have did his shit way better.”
Max thinks Playboi Carti, who still hasn’t dropped that Whole Lotta Red follow-up, “would have been better.” This comes after he already called K-Dot’s show straight up “ass.”
Worth noting that Kendrick did mix in some classics – he squeezed two Damn hits between “Squabble Up” and last year’s Drake response track “Euphoria,” performing both “Humble” and “DNA.” “Euphoria” was part of his back-and-forth with Drake, coming after “Push Ups” and that A.I. “Taylor Made Freestyle.” The beef kept building with “6:16 in LA,” “Family Matters,” “Meet the Grahams,” and finally May 2024’s chart-topping (and now legally contested) “Not Like Us.”
