Travis Scott dreaming up some unexpected collabs with pop and alt-rock stars.
The UTOPIA hitmaker dropped some surprising names during his latest Billboard chat when asked about dream collaborations, naming Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter and Houston’s psychedelic rock group Khruangbin.
“This might be crazy, but I would love to get Taylor Swift or Sabrina Carpenter on a hook,” Scott said.
Explaining his interest in working with the pop stars, Scott mentioned he’s got “ill ideas” for them. The “4 x 4” rapper seems totally cool about Carpenter beating him on the charts last year too. “Charts, shmarts, man,” he said. “Who measures that? Her album’s cool. Days Before Rodeo is 10 years old. It all works.”
Back in September, Carpenter’s sixth album Short n’ Sweet squeaked past Scott’s digital drop of Days Before Rodeo by just 600 units to grab the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100.
Scott’s closest connection to Swift so far was just showing her love at the 2024 Super Bowl.
While Swift and Carpenter both have Grammy gold, Houston’s alt-rock band Khruangbin came up short against Chappell Roan for Best New Artist at this year’s Grammy Awards.
