ASAP Rocky’s courtroom got heated Thursday when his lawyer Joe Tacopina and Deputy DA John Lewin almost went at it.
The drama unfolded during closing statements when Lewin – who’d already interrupted Tacopina 17 times according to the judge – lost it after Tacopina brought up some appeals court comments about him.
“Your honor, one more thing out of him and we air out everything that’s happened in this case!” Lewin snapped. “He might want to stop!”
Tacopina fired back with a mocking “Ooh, I’m so threatened by you.” Lewin wasn’t having it: “Yeah, you should be, Joe,” he shot back. “You should be.”
The courtroom got so chaotic with everyone talking at once that you could barely make out what was being said – except for someone clearly yelling “Liar.”
Judge Arnold finally had enough of their squabbling. “Stop it!” he shouted. “Knock if off!”
The heated closing arguments centered on whether Rocky fired a real gun at ASAP Relli in Hollywood back in 2021.
“Was it a real gun or was it a fake gun?” Deputy DA Paul Przelomiec asked. “Nothing else is in dispute.” The prosecution pushed for guilty verdicts on two felony assault charges, while the defense claimed Rocky just had a prop gun with blanks that he’d gotten from security.
Tacopina blasted Relli as “an angry pathological liar” who “committed perjury again and again and again and again.”
The case is now in the jury’s hands.
