Drake’s Latin Era: Every Time The Rapper Has Spit Verses in Spanish

The 6 God might not be fluent in 74 languages (that’s just a joke), but he’s definitely not shy about mixing different tongues in his tracks. From French to Patois to Spanish, Drake loves to spice up his verses with international flavor.

His latest Spanish adventure? “Meet Your Padre” off the fresh collab album with PartyNextDoor, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U. But this isn’t Drake’s first Spanish rodeo. He’s been dropping Spanish bars throughout his career, vibing with everything from Mexican regional beats to linking up with Bad Bunny in San Juan. Let’s dive into every time Champagne Papi has switched from English to Spanish flows.

“Odio” – Romeo Santos featuring Drake

Year Released: 2014

Drake’s Spanish journey really kicked off when he joined forces with bachata legend Romeo Santos on “Odio.” The track has these two famous heartbreakers teaming up in the second verse, where they croon: “I’m jealous of his kisses on your body/ Envy takes hold of me like this… I hate that man ’cause he’s by your side/ I lost your love, I’m a poor devil,” before hitting us with that gut-punch harmony: “Without your love, I am nothing.”

“Mía” – Bad Bunny f/ Drake

Year Released: 2018

Looks like those Spanish lessons hit different – Drake rolled into the booth ready to flex his bilingual flow (at least that’s the vibe I’m getting). When he linked with Bad Bunny for “MIA,” two worldwide icons collided, and Drake came through with that catchy hook: “Dile que tú eres mía, mía” (“Tell him that you’re mine, mine”).

“Gently” – Drake f/ Bad Bunny

Year Released: 2023

Drake’s Spanish might need some work, but who cares? His Spanglish opener on “Gently” from For All the Dogs had everyone cracking up. My man’s out here singing “I’ve been El Chico for cincuenta años” (meaning “I’ve been The Boy for 50 years”). Math’s not mathing though – Drake’s only 38!

“Modo Capone” – Chino Pacas with Fuerza Regida and Drake

Year Released: 2024

After his heated Kendrick beef cooled down, Drake took a musical vacation to Mexico, teaming up with Chino Pacas and Fuerza Regida. He jumped into traditional Mexican sounds, dropping some spicy Spanish lyrics about a late-night rendezvous (with a clever play on Mexican slang “fresas”) – though I’m not sure all the aunties were feeling those bars!

“Meet Your Padre” – Drake and PartyNextDoor featuring Chino Pacas

Year Released: 2025

Drake’s newest Spanish adventure has him getting cozy with that Spanglish style, reuniting with Chico Pacas for some bilingual charm: “Mi amor, I’m not one that you can ignore/ I want your phone número, por favor.” Then, just to flex, he switches it up with a dash of Patois: “Make the gyal step left.” We’ll let that one slide!
