Ye’s calling out the Recording Academy over a ticket drama.
The artist we used to know as Kanye West took to Twitter on Saturday, Feb. 15, dropping some tea about how he supposedly couldn’t score tickets to the Grammys show. He claims he had to hustle for five hours just to get red carpet access, even though his song “Carnival” was up for Best Rap Song. Ye’s saying people were quick to judge his reactions without knowing the full story.
“How could the Grammies nominate me Then not give me tickets And then people mad when I go off I had to fight for 5 hours and call everyone I knew to get tickets to the Grammies They eventually gave me tickets but only for the red carpet At that point I hadn’t started the rampage,” Ye tweeted.
Following his red carpet appearance, where his wife Bianca Censori turned heads in a see-through dress under a black fur coat, Ye let loose with an antisemitic rant on X.
The drama’s been heating up since then, with Ye’s wild tweets over recent weeks rubbing folks the wrong way. The situation peaked when former Def Jam CEO Lyor Cohen dropped an open letter calling Ye out – but Ye wasn’t having any of it.
“You start by apologizing and taking accountability for the massive promotion of black death that you’ve got paid off of for years,” Ye fired back. “Also you too broke to speak to me in the first place. And you know what Irv said to you before he passed and since he not here. I’ll say it Suuuuck Myyyy Diiiick.”
