The jury just delivered their verdict in ASAP Rocky’s gun assault trial.
Rocky got cleared of all charges Tuesday, immediately launching himself across the courtroom to wrap his mom and Rihanna in a massive hug.
As he left the courtroom, Rocky turned to the jury with heartfelt words, thanking them for “saving my life” and “making the right decision.”
During final arguments, Rocky’s lawyer Joe Tacopina hammered home that ASAP Relli, who accused Rocky, had been feeding the jury “lies.” The whole case hinged on the gun itself – Rocky’s team called it just a prop while prosecutors tried to prove it was the real deal.
ASAP Rocky’s legal drama started when cops grabbed him in April 2022 over those gun assault charges. LAPD said it all went down in November 2021, starting as “an argument between two acquaintances.” When trial time came around this year, Rocky wasn’t having any plea deals.
Right from jump, Tacopina called out Relli’s accusations as just “nothing more than a money grab.” But when Relli hit the stand, he claimed Rocky pulled a gun and threatened to kill him during that 2021 run-in.
Rihanna showed up strong for Rocky in court starting January. Later on, she even brought their little ones, RZA and Riot, to catch the closing arguments.
Now that this is behind him, Rocky’s got some big moves coming up – he’s co-chairing the 2025 Met Gala, plus word is he’s still cooking up that new album Don’t Be Dumb.
