The superstar opens up about how her partner ASAP Rocky keeps their relationship fresh by bringing up their carefree friendship days.
In her latest Harper’s Bazaar cover story, Rihanna shared how Rocky, who fathered their boys RZA and Riot, makes sure they don’t lose sight of having fun despite their busy lives. “That’s a big thing for us and actually a really big thing for him,” Rihanna explained.
“He always reminds me, no matter how hard everything is that we’re dealing with in our life, in our careers and as parents, he’s like, ‘Remember when we were friends? Remember when we just used to have fun as friends?” she added.
The singer dished about their social lifestyle too. “We like to eat with people. We like to shop with people. We like to walk the streets with people,” she explained. “I don’t like a very private room. I don’t have them shut down stores. I don’t like the Rapunzel life.”
“It’s very lonely,” she went on. “And what am I protecting myself from? I’m actually allowing people to dictate the robbery of the life that I could actually be living.”
In the interview, RiRi also gushed about Rocky’s amazing connection with their kids. “I’m annoyed because my sons sometimes just live for him more than they live for me,” she said.
“And I’m like, ‘Did you know who cooked you? Do you know who pushed you out?’ And they love him, but when I see it, oh, it’s the best,” she added.
Recently, after Rocky’s victory in his gun case, the couple joked about naming their potential third child after his attorney, Joe Tacopina. The lawyer told Extra about a conversation he had with the pair after the verdict came in.
“Rihanna and Rocky said to me in the courtroom yesterday, they grabbed me and they said, ‘Listen, our next baby is ASAP Joe,'” he shared.
