Atlanta cops have connected the killings of two teen boys to a Lil Baby music video production.
Police officials in Atlanta gathered for a media briefing on Wednesday afternoon to reveal they’ve arrested seven people for the murders of 13-year-olds Jakody Davis and Lamon Freeman, according to Channel 2 Action News.
The boys were gunned down in July 2024 during Freeman’s birthday celebration.
At the press conference, police explained that their deaths were part of a violent sequence that kicked off with gunfire at a music video filming last May, though they didn’t specifically name Lil Baby, 30.
As reported earlier, three men were wounded in a shooting during Lil Baby’s music video filming in Atlanta that month.
Channel 2 Action News revealed they’d secured arrest warrants confirming the artist mentioned by authorities was indeed Lil Baby, whose real name is Dominique Jones.
Three individuals were shot while Jones’ video was being recorded in northwest Atlanta in May 2024. WSBTV reports that the teens’ shooting was connected to two enemy gangs targeting each other following the incident that occurred during the music video production.
“Lamont Friedman was allowed to be a 13-year-old for 27 minutes before gang violence ultimately took his life. Gang violence that was orchestrated by adults,” Major Ralph Woolfolk stated during Wednesday’s press conference around the 10-minute mark of the video below.
“Cowardly acts of an Atlanta-based rapper that decided to go over into a rival gang stronghold and shoot a music video in a place that he knew he should not have been. In the subsequent days, we saw homicides and shootings and, ultimately, the deaths of two children as a result of his cowardly actions and you know who you are.”
“And I tell you that this team will work relentlessly to hold you and the persons that you are affiliated with responsible for those actions,” he continued.
Major Woolfolk also mentioned that a high-ranking member of the opposing gang ordered a hit from inside a Georgia prison using a smuggled cellphone. This individual wasn’t identified.
A $50,000 reward is being offered for additional information related to the case. Play
