UCLA has responded to recently surfaced photos showing Kendrick Lamar hitting the books on campus.
Pictures of K Dot studying blew up online this week, with one tweet from a parody account on the platform formerly called Twitter claiming he was taking psychology classes to “master his pen.”
In response to the viral posts, UCLA fired back, “Photos from 2022, but the lesson stays the same—UCLA is where you level up.”
According to Billboard, the photos first made waves on TikTok after a user posted a video featuring the images with the caption, “pov: just a normal day at UCLA.” In the comments section, they clarified that the pictures were actually taken back in 2022.
“This was in 2022, he was incredibly kind and humble,” they wrote. “I didn’t realize who he was at that time… I just saw people asking for photos, and I took some too. … It wasn’t until later that someone told me who he was. I might take this post down since I don’t know if sharing it is the right thing to do.”
Despite claims that he was studying psychology, it’s not actually clear what subjects Kendrick was taking.
