Millie Bobby Brown is calling out reporters who are judging changes in her appearance.
“I grew up in front of the world, and for some reason, people can’t seem to grow with me,” Brown stated in a video shared on her Instagram. “Instead, they act like I’m supposed to stay frozen in time, like I should still look the way I did on Stranger Things Season 1. And because I don’t, I’m now a target.”
She went on, “This isn’t journalism. This is bullying. The fact that adult writers are spending their time dissecting my face, my body, my choices, it’s disturbing. The fact that some of these articles are written by women? Even worse.”
Last week, the 21-year-old fired back at critics who thought she wasn’t dressing appropriately for her age, specifically referencing a recent premiere of her new film, The Electric State. For the red carpet event, the actress rocked an Annie’s Ibiza metallic gold and bronze striped embroidered gown and matching bolero jacket paired with her new platinum blonde hair.
She later shared on her IG Story a screenshot of a British Vogue story with the headline, “No One Cares How Old You Think Millie Bobby Brown Looks.” “@britishvogue thank you,” she wrote.
