LiAngelo Ball’s viral hit Tweaker has him cashing in, as the song has reportedly earned nearly $640,000 since its release.
According to Billboard, Gelo’s debut track has seen massive success, boosted in part by the remix featuring Lil Wayne. So far, the song has amassed over 90 million total on-demand streams.
The high streaming numbers have reportedly brought in $476,500 from master recording rights and $161,500 from publishing, adding up to a total of $638,000.
Releasing Tweaker has been a game-changer for LiAngelo Ball. In January, he was announced as a performer for Rolling Loud LA, joining artists like A$AP Rocky, Playboi Carti, Sexyy Red, Quavo, and Ken Carson.
That same month, Ball secured a deal with Def Jam and Universal Music Group worth a reported $13 million—guaranteeing him $8 million while allowing him to retain full ownership of his masters.
Speaking to Complex‘s Speedy Morman about his label decision, Gelo explained how he found the right fit. “They all reached out for real, but I don’t know,” he said. “Me and my team got together and had long talks with the labels. We took some meetings.”
Ultimately, he chose the deal that felt right. “I’m just going with what sounds best to me at the end of the day,” he added. “We talked to them like, man to man, like, ‘We need this, this, this,’ and that’s what they got done for us. And they showed love too, bro.”
When asked if his net worth was $800,000, Gelo laughed it off, suggesting the number was outdated. “I think that’s not updated. That might be my high school net worth,” he joked. “I don’t know. I had whips though. Used to wash a couple whips up, cut some hair. You know that money come in, bro.”
His financial success comes as his brother, Lonzo Ball, teased on Tuesday that Gelo is already working on his next single with GloRilla. “Coming soon!” he wrote, adding, “#canyoupleaseeeeee.”
