Kai Cenat Likens Getting Ready for Marathon Streams to NBA Finals: ‘I’m Going Out There to Win’

Kai Cenat made his Tonight Show debut on Wednesday, with the streaming megastar and host Jimmy Fallon even floating the idea of doing a marathon stream together.

As fans know, Cenat became a regular in headlines last year with his star-packed Mafiathon 2 streaming event. SZA, Nardwuar, Chris Brown, Lil Dicky, Bill Nye the Science Guy, and many more celebrities dropped by for the record-breaking stream. When asked how he prepares for such a challenging task like streaming 24 hours a day for a month straight, Cenat compared the process to chasing a championship.

“So if I know I’m doing a 30-day stream, or a long stream in general, the firs thing I’m going to do is get off the internet,” Cenat told Fallon. “I literally log off of it and I just remove myself from there so I don’t really know what’s going on. … Then I spend my time with loved ones, my mom, my family, and who I have to. And then it’s like, it feels like I’m about to do the NBA Finals or something. It’s like I’m going out there to win a championship.”

After the preparation phase ends, Cenat said, he shifts his focus to tapping into creativity and personal prayer.

“I prepare myself like that, I get off the internet, and I just make sure that I put all my soul and focus into the creativity,” he said. “Then I do a little prayer. I pray to God a lot. The rest is history.”

Cenat mentioned during his chat with Fallon that he “might” do another Mafiathon, though he didn’t share when fans could possibly expect his next marathon stream. Kai and Jimmy also talked about the origin of “rizz,” his upcoming role in a State Farm commercial, a now-deceased mouse that once made a surprise appearance on stream, and more.
