Regina Hall and Kevin Hart go way back as collaborators, for better or worse. While recently co-hosting TODAY with Jenna & Friends, Hall reminded Hart about an awkward on-set moment from years ago. Around the 1:30 mark in the video above, Hart praised his Think Like a Man co-star, telling Hall she looked “good.”
Hall questioned if the compliment was sincere before bringing up the memory.
“Kevin and I were doing a scene, and I was scantily clad, and he said, ‘Somebody get a robe so Regina can cover up her sandbags!'” Hall told her co-host Jenna Bush Hager as they all cracked up.
“It was a different shoot. It was a different time,” Hart claimed. “We weren’t in today’s time!”
Hart then joked that he met Hall at Home Depot when Hollywood was “slow” and that the actress “jumped in the truck” with him. Hall played along, saying she was 18 while Hart was 62 back then.
While neither revealed which movie set they were on when the “sandbags” comment happened, both Hall and Hart agreed they first met filming the 2003 comedy Scary Movie 3.
“We’ve spent a lot of time together,” Hart explained. “I don’t think that there is a face that lights me up more––on camera or off.”
“I say it time and time again––she is pound for pound the funniest co-star that I’ve ever worked with,” he continued.
Hall expressed similar affection for Hart, who she’s worked with for 20 years in movies like About Last Night and Me Time.
