Joe Rogan Reveals Ye Was Messaging Fake Account About Interview Opportunity

Ye’s got more drama on his plate after apparently texting with a phony Joe Rogan about appearing on the Joe Rogan Experience.

In a now-deleted tweet on Friday (March 7), the 24-time Grammy winner posted screenshots of messages with “Rogan” who turned out to be a fake.

“I would love to sit down and speak with you but I am honestly a bit uncomfortable with your latest tweets,” one message said, according to TMZ. “Is there a way we can clear the air on some of this when we sit down?”

Not realizing he was being duped, West accepted the meeting. “I’m happy to know that the tweets make you uncomfortable,” he replied. “They are working. As you said, ‘I’m off the reservation.’ AKA off the plantation.”

But the real Rogan jumped on X to set the record straight. “Hey, @kanyewest, I don’t know who you’re talking to but that’s not me,” Rogan reposted.

Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, appeared on JRE back in 2020 during his presidential campaign. About 56 minutes into the interview below, Ye addressed his controversial 2018 comment calling slavery “a choice.”

“I remember going on TMZ and saying, ‘Slavery is a choice,’ and they medicated me for saying that,” he explained then. “For having that opinion and saying it out loud. As I put those contracts up, I’m saying, ‘This is a choice.'”

Earlier in their talk, Ye stated that he believed his “calling” was to be “the leader of the free world.”

There’s no word yet on whether the authentic Rogan will give Ye another chance to appear on his podcast.
