Wendy Williams is reportedly undergoing a cognitive health exam before her comeback on The View.
TMZ reports the 60-year-old is at Manhattan’s Lenox Hill Hospital for testing that could determine if she can be freed from guardianship. The exam was requested by caregiver Gina Monterroso after NYPD visited Williams Monday (March 10).
Police were looking into claims Williams is being held in an assisted living facility. Adult Protective Services is now investigating.
Williams has hired celebrity lawyer Joe Tacopina, who handled A$AP Rocky’s gun case, ahead of her appearance on The View Friday (March 14). This marks her return to TV nearly two years after being diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia.
In January, Williams appeared on The Breakfast Club denying cognitive impairment and demanding release from her “prison” guardianship, claiming the “system” has “falsified” information about her.
Last month, Williams claimed on the 2 Angry Men podcast that her son, Kevin Hunter Jr., 24, has “inappropriately” mishandled her money.
