Ayo Edebiri called out Elon Musk for triggering death threats over a fake movie announcement.
The actor shared an Instagram screenshot showing Musk reacting to a phony Pirates 6 post suggesting she’d replace Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow. “Disney sucks,” he commented.
“Just remembering when I got some of the most insane death threats and racial slurs of my life (idk if it’s the #1 moment, but for sure top 3) for a fake reboot of a movie I had never even heard of because of this man LMAO,” she wrote. “So not only is he a double sg hl-ing fascist, he’s an idiot, but anyway.”
“Life is, of course, a gift,” she added — showing she wasn’t too bothered by Musk’s antics.

In a more lighthearted exchange, Edebiri also posted a DM conversation with “New Girl” writer Camilla Blackett, who suggested she’d actually do well in the fake Pirates reboot if it were real.

“@waltdisneyfrozenhead wait no DEI, but I’ve changed my mind, maybe we can make some money idk lmk,” she joked.
In real news, Edebiri is set to write the upcoming live-action Barney movie.
The Barney film will be produced by A24 and Daniel Kaluuya’s 59% Productions, partnering with Mattel Films.
No confirmed cast yet, but reports suggest Edebiri might also star in the film – scoring both writing and acting roles.
Meanwhile, Musk took a break from sharing fake movie news to welcome another child with Shivon Zilis.
Zilis announced on X: “Discussed with Elon and, in light of beautiful Arcadia’s birthday, we felt it was better to also just share directly about our wonderful and incredible son Seldon Lycurgus. Built like a juggernaut, with a solid heart of gold. Love him so much.”
