Drake, a frequent topic in Stake-related news, is making headlines again. Unlike the previous drone video incident that many mistakenly thought was real, this time the OVO Sound co-founder shared a memorable gambling story involving Michael Jordan.
After discussing a 2024 Dave & Buster’s betting win that reportedly earned him millions, Drake was asked who he considered the “real-life gambling GOAT.” Calling it a “controversial take,” Drake recalled a high-stakes ping-pong match with Jordan that demonstrated why the NBA legend deserves this title.
“He’ll gamble on anything,” Drake said. “I remember it was, like, All-Star Weekend [in] Toronto and he had an event to be at. I beat him at ping-pong, like, a couple times and he just wouldn’t leave the ping-pong table. He kept just betting me, like, bands. 10 bands, 20 bands. Just kept betting because he just couldn’t stomach the loss, you know? He’s definitely not a quitter. I respect him deeply for his gambling nature. So, yeah, I’d say Michael Jordan’s definitely one-of-one.”
Back in 2022, Stake, the online casino, announced Drake as “its newest partner,” adding that he was joining as “an ambassador to the brand.” Several Stake-related Drake updates have followed, including a recent Instagram post of the platform’s logo with a joking caption claiming he was “down bad.”
“So I am posting this solely for $2 million credit to spin slots,” he added at the time.
With his PARTYNEXTDOOR collaboration album $ome $exy $ongs 4 U now just over a month old, Drake is already teasing his “next chapter.” He recently warned fans that what’s coming might leave some “feeling uneasy.” It’s unclear if we’ll see a new Drake solo album in 2025, though it seems likely. His latest solo project, For All the Dogs, will reach its second anniversary this October.
