Sean Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, have been convicted in their federal wire fraud case.
On Friday, a judge in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, declared Kingston and his mother guilty on all five charges. TMZ reports that Kingston broke down in tears when the verdict was announced and begged officials to “protect” his mother as she was escorted out of the courtroom and into custody.
Turner was detained because the judge considered her a flight risk. While his mother was taken into custody after the verdict, Kingston was put under house arrest. They’re scheduled to be sentenced on July 11.
