“Nokia,” a standout cut from the recent PARTYNEXTDOOR and Drake collab album $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, just became the first track from their joint project to get an official video treatment.
The video for the Elkan-produced Drake track dropped Monday, as promised. According to Drake’s Instagram teaser caption, the “Nokia” visual was shot on IMAX and directed by Theo Skudra. NBA star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander makes a cameo appearance in the video.
In February, footage hit Instagram showing Elkan creating what would become the foundation of “Nokia,” giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at the personal creative journey behind this Hot 100 top 10 hit. Earlier that month, when celebrating the $$$4U release, Elkan revealed he was going through a “mental breakdown” while making the track.
“I channeled all the pain, trauma, and joy into music, not letting a fucked up mental state stop me from expressing myself,” said Elkan, who’s also credited with keyboards, additional vocals, and programming on the song.
