Lizzo’s fitness trainer, Shaun T, is firing back at the Ozempic rumors swirling around his famous client.
When approached by a TMZ photographer this week about celebrities being accused of using trendy weight loss drugs after dropping pounds, Shaun didn’t hold back.
“The accusations are wildly annoying,” he told the outlet in the video linked here. “I think that generally people think because now something is available and popular, they’re not going to give people props. People would rather hate before they give people props.”
“I have trained Lizzo. Like, I have worked out with her, I have danced with her. Lizzo is very fit,” he stressed. “People think, like, just because someone’s like a quote unquote plus size person there, they’re not fit.”
Shaun revealed Lizzo has completed his tough “Insanity” program. He also backed up pop singer Meghan Trainor, saying she and her husband, Spy Kids star Daryl Sabara, slimmed down using his T25 program.
“That’s the first thing I’d say: so don’t automatically assume that just because a celebrity or anybody’s losing weight that they’re on Ozempic,” Shaun said. “The second thing I want to say, which is absolutely important, is for people to mind your business.”
“Because the people who are actually talking about, ‘Oh my gosh, that person’s using Ozemic,’ you’re probably not even working out. And the people who are working out, most of them are like, ‘Cool, if they are using Ozempic, I hope that they’re eating healthy,’ or something like that,” he added.
The “About Damn Time” singer announced she reached her weight loss goal in January after sharing her workouts and fitness journey with fans on TikTok throughout the past year.
Last week, news broke that the 4-time Grammy winner will portray Rock ‘n’ Roll pioneer Rosetta Tharpe in an upcoming biopic.
