Young Thug Responds to Prosecutors Demanding His Probation Be Revoked Over Supposed Threatening Behavior

Young Thug is standing his ground after the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office moved to revoke his probation over claims of threatening behavior.

Court papers reviewed by Complex on Wednesday show prosecutors alleging that Thug has “engaged in conduct that threatens the safety of witnesses and prosecutors, compromises ongoing legal proceedings, and warrants immediate revocation of probation.”

Thug hit back on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “I don’t make treats to people I’m a good person, I would never condone anyone threatening anyone or definitely participate in threatening anyone,” he wrote. “I’m all about peace and love.”

Earlier this week, the Atlanta rapper posted a picture of Marissa Viverito, an investigative analyst with the Atlanta Police Department, captioned “Biggest liar in the DA office.”

The motion claims that after Thug’s post, Viverito’s home address and her parents’ address were leaked online. “This post quickly went viral, amassing over 2 million views, with thousands of comments and retweets, many of which included direct threats to Investigator Viverito and her family,” the document states.

According to the motion, one X user wrote: “If the hate is really real hen pull up on her mama crib,” alongside a photo of her mother’s home.

“This ongoing manipulation of public perception through social media is intended to obstruct justice, silence witnesses, and threaten those who enforce the law,” the motion argues. It also mentioned that “hours later, an additional post emerged threatening the assassination of District Attorney Fani Willis.”

Thug’s lawyer, Brian Steel, defended his client against the motion. “It is never appropriate to threaten to murder another person,” he said, according to WSB-TV. “The prosecution’s motion to revoke Jeffery’s probation should not be well-received and should be swiftly rejected. It is irresponsible to file a motion of this sort when Jeffery has done absolutely nothing to violate any condition of probation or threaten a witness.”

It’s not clear what triggered Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffrey Williams, to share the post about Viverito. However, she previously testified as a witness in the YSL trial, which charged 28 individuals, including Thug, with conspiracy to violate Georgia’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act.
