Olivia Munn Slams Upcoming All-Female Space Journey with Katy Perry as ‘Gluttonous’

Olivia Munn has criticized the upcoming space journey that will include Katy Perry as “gluttonous.”

Munn recently voiced her opinion on the all-female Blue Origin space mission scheduled for Apr. 14. While guest hosting on Today With Jenna & Friends, Munn didn’t hold back her thoughts about the upcoming flight for Jeff Bezos’ rocket company.

“What are they doing? Like, why?” Munn said. “You know what I mean? I know this is probably not the cool thing to say, but there are so many other things that are so important in the world right now. What are you guys going to do up in space?”

Her cohost, Bush Hager, mentioned that the women would be in space for just 11 minutes — which prompted Munn to joke, “So you’re on, like, Magic Mountain.”

“And by the way, if you want to go to space, why do you need to tell us about it? You know? Just go up there, have a good time, come on down,” Munn continued. “Also, I just think about — I know this is probably obnoxious but it’s so much money to go to space. There’s a lot of people who can’t even afford eggs. Oh my God, if they bring eggs into space!”

When Hager pointed out that the all-female crew is “all going in glam,” Munn seemed even more baffled.

“What’s the point? Is it historic that you guys are going on a ride? I think it’s a bit gluttonous. The cover of Elle magazine? I don’t know,” Munn ranted.

“Space exploration was to further our knowledge and to help mankind. What are they gonna do up there that has made it better for us down here?” Munn went on. “I mean, I don’t know if all that rocket fuel is good. This is a lot of resources being spent.”

In Elle’s cover story about the upcoming journey, Perry quipped of the crew, “We are going to put the ‘ass’ in astronaut.”
