Rick Ross is upgrading his fourth annual car and bike show with wheelchair accessibility.
Last year, Rozay faced legal trouble when Darris Straughter, who uses a wheelchair, sued him after traveling from Miami to the event in Fayetteville, Georgia. Despite notifying organizers two weeks in advance about his needs, Straughter was left stranded at his hotel when the promised shuttle never showed up. He waited for hours, while other attendees also complained about the event’s poor organization.
Straughter demanded his money back and took Ross to court for violations of the Americans With Disabilities Act, wrongful enrichment, and breach of contract. He also pushed for Ross to make future car shows accessible to wheelchair users.
Ross appears to have taken the feedback to heart, according to TMZ’s Thursday (April 3) report. The rap mogul has agreed to provide wheelchair-accessible shuttles for his 4th annual car and bike show, which will transport guests directly to designated handicap parking areas at the venue. The event is scheduled for June 7 and will feature special appearances by Plies and Nino Breeze.
“Thanks to Darris Straughter and the other wheelchair users who came forward, the upcoming Rick Ross Car & Bike Show will be so wheelchair accessible that even golf carts will be provided to wheelchair users,” Straughter’s attorney, John Hoover, told TMZ.
