At 46, Tia Mowry has finally made peace with flying solo.
The actress split from actor Cory Hardict in 2023 after fifteen years of marriage, and regularly talks about her single status.
On Friday, Mowry dropped an Instagram reel showcasing behind-the-scenes highlights from her personal and professional world. The clips featured Mowry hanging with her kids, walking red carpets, and jetting off on adventures. “Doing everything but worrying about being single in my 40s,” she wrote alongside the video.
The post came with a heartfelt caption addressing the “stigma” surrounding single women as they get older. “There’s this stigma that we shouldn’t be single in our 40s, like thriving on your own isn’t an option,” Mowry shared. “At one point, I thought the idea of being ‘alone’ was scary… but now that I’m here? I’m not scared anymore.”
“I’d be lying if I said I’ve never felt lonely, but it happens. Because I love LOVE!” she added. “But that’s not the only thing we should measure our happiness on, or the only thing that defines us. And we definitely shouldn’t stress over whatever timeline has been forced on us.”
Mowry wrapped up by encouraging her followers to embrace the “journey of life” and know that “we’re all going to be OK” regardless of age.
On her reality show Tia Mowry: My Next Act, the actress shared her process of accepting her split from Hardict and got advice from other divorced actresses like Jackeé Harry and Essence Atkins. Despite the breakup, Mowry and Hardict seem to be on good terms, with the former All-American: Homecoming star still considering his ex-wife to be “family.”
Mowry and Hardict have two kids together, a 13-year-old son named Cree and a 6-year-old daughter named Cairo.
