Benny Blanco Arrives at ‘The Jennifer Hudson Show’ With No Shoes and Carrying Flowers

Benny Blanco’s quite the character.

The team at The Jennifer Hudson Show greeted him with a musical welcome in the Spirit Tunnel, where Blanco showed up shoeless and carrying a bunch of roses. In footage from the moment, the Grammy-nominated producer hands out flowers to staff members before playfully throwing the remaining blooms at the camera with a big grin.

In another part of the show, Blanco and Hudson chatted about his 37th birthday celebration. When asked how he marked the occasion, he shared that his fiancée Selena Gomez had never experienced prom, so he organized one for his birthday party (and yes, by this point he’d finally put on some footwear, though just slides).

He also revealed who dropped the first “I love you” between them. “She actually said, ‘I love you’ first. It was crazy,” he explained, recounting how she said those three words in the hospital after hand surgery while still coming out of anesthesia.

The pair released their debut collaborative album, I Said I Love You First, on March 21. The 14-track collection features contributions from Gracie Abrams, J Balvin, The Marías, and Tainy, and landed at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. It also produced four tracks that made it onto the Billboard Hot 100: “Call Me When You Break Up,” “Ojos Tristes,” “How Does It Feel to Be Forgotten,” and “Sunset Blvd.”

Further proving his playful nature: last year, Blanco enlisted pedicure artist @nailedbytav to create a custom toenail design inspired by Persian rugs.
