Birdman and Toni Braxton reportedly got hitched last August.
According to TMZ, the pair almost broke up just two weeks after saying “I do,” as the seven-time Grammy winner filed for divorce. Documents obtained by the outlet show that Braxton and Birdman, whose real name is Bryan Williams, got married on Aug. 8, 2024. But in Braxton’s divorce filing, their separation date is listed as August 10, merely two days later, with the singer and her lawyer stating that the marriage was “irretrievably broken.”
However, the couple has since patched things up, with the divorce petition getting thrown out in January, which Birdman agreed to. Back in December 2023, Braxton denied that she and the Cash Money Records co-founder were married, referring to him as her “dear friend.”
In a 2018 report from Vibe, the outlet revealed that Braxton shared photos on Instagram from the day Birdman popped the question. The couple reportedly got engaged in 2017. But their relationship has faced numerous challenges despite Birdman and Braxton openly acknowledging their romance. The rapper and music mogul has even made short appearances on Braxton’s reality show, The Braxton Family Values, and in one episode, was grilled by the singer’s late sister, Traci.
In 2018, Birdman appeared on The Wendy Williams Show, where he clarified around the three-minute mark that he and Braxton weren’t married “as of yet” and that it was “hard to accept love” from women in her family.
