Jillian Lauren, married to Weezer bassist Scott Shriner, got slapped with attempted murder charges after a wild incident on Tuesday that ended with her in the hospital nursing a gunshot wound.
TMZ reports that LAPD and California Highway Patrol officers were chasing a car allegedly involved in a hit-and-run when three people jumped out and ran. One suspect reportedly ended up on a residential street and hid in someone’s backyard.
As cops closed in on the suspect, Lauren came out of her house with Shriner, holding a gun. Officials can’t confirm if she actually fired it.
Police say they repeatedly ordered Lauren to drop her weapon. According to the officers, she not only ignored them but allegedly pointed the gun at them, prompting them to shoot her in the shoulder.
Lauren darted back into her house. She gave herself up, along with her babysitter, outside her home half an hour later.
After getting treatment for a non-life-threatening wound at a nearby hospital, Lauren was arrested.
One suspect has been caught, while the other two remain on the loose.
