50 Cent thinks he’s got the answer to Diddy’s legal troubles.
Fif jumped on Instagram, sharing a snap of ASAP Rocky’s attorney, Joe Tacopina, and writing, “If Diddy can get Joe he might beat this case but he gonna have to pay a lot of money, there’s no time to prepare!”
Next to Tacopina’s picture was a Hollywood Reporter headline that read: “Courtroom magician Joe Tacopina Saved ASAP Rocky’s Life—Now Diddy’s Knocking on His Door.”
In the Reporter piece, Tacopina revealed that Diddy has been trying to recruit him for his legal defense before his May trial kicks off. Tacopina told the publication that he was “going to speak” to Diddy. “I’m not saying yes or no. I’m just going to listen.”
Back in February, Tacopina explained to The Breakfast Club why he turned down Diddy’s case, citing his connections with Jay-Z and Roc Nation.
“I represent Roc Nation; a lot of people in Roc I’m very close with,” Tacopina said at the 47:16 mark of the video above. “Jay and [Roc Nation president] Desiree Perez, who’s the most amazing, like—bomb of a boss. Jay is amazing. You know, Jay Brown, all those people are just, like, they really are special, special people. That’s sort of family to me and I don’t think they see eye-to-eye with P. Diddy.”
Tacopina recently made headlines after securing a victory in Rocky’s shooting trial. After the win, Rihanna and Rocky joked they’d name their third baby after the attorney.
“Rihanna and Rocky said to me in the courtroom yesterday, they grabbed me and they said, ‘Listen, our next baby is ASAP Joe,'” Tacopina told Extra.
Diddy just got hit with two more criminal charges ahead of his New York trial next month. He’s now facing an additional count of sex trafficking and another count of transportation to engage in prostitution.
In all, he’s charged with two counts of sex trafficking, two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, and one count of racketeering. His trial begins May 5.
