GloRilla has shared that giving up alcohol was the most challenging aspect during her month-long fast.
Speaking with BET, Big Glo looked back on her health improvement journey, which began with a full month of fasting. The hip-hop star started with a health-focused to-do list that included completing a book, staying away from clubs, working out at least three times weekly, and additional goals. She even encouraged her fans to participate in her wellness challenge, but there was one particular hurdle that tested her resolve.
“I probably say that drinking [was the hardest to avoid], but I’m not a drinker anyway. I don’t take shots unless it’s occasionally. I drink margaritas,” said Glo. “I [had] a lot of stuff to do like the game events–All-Star Weekend and the Super Bowl. I had shows, and I couldn’t drink. I normally like to prep myself with a little drinky drink. But I couldn’t do that.”
She added, “So that was probably the hardest part, ’cause drinking water is easy, and going to the gym is easy, and reading a book is easy. Some people did it with me and that did make it easier, the few people that did. When everybody was around just drinking, I was like, ‘Oh my god.’ I was trying to stay away from them.”
In a February conversation with Complex’s Jordan Rose about her fasting progress, GloRilla admitted it was “hard to go out around people and not be a little drunk.”
Her dedication seems to be showing results, as she’s now facing BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift) accusations, which she’s firmly denied. GloRilla recently had some fun with these rumors when she posted a gym video addressing speculation about her transformed physique and revealing the actual “shots” she received.
“I’ve been seeing everybody with all the BBL allegations and I wanna come on here and be honest,” Glo said. “So, I didn’t get a BBL, but I did get some ‘discipline shots.’ So, I got ’em inserted right here and right here.”
She then pointed to her dimples and added, “And, you know, they just flow all the way through my brain. Just a few shots of discipline and that’s it. And that’s how you gon’ get a fat ass. But I ain’t get no BBL.”
