Ye Claims He Dislikes ‘MBDTF’ and ‘Obviously’ Has Hatred for Jay-Z

Ye has revealed a list of things he dislikes, including his former collaborator Jay-Z and his widely praised album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

On Friday night, the artist previously known as Kanye West took to X for another wild rant, covering topics ranging from the Jewish community to his wealth, his account being shut down, and more. One of his most surprising statements targeted his fifth studio album, which fans widely cherish.

According to Ye, he can’t stand the album, and he created it to prove a point following his notorious incident with Taylor Swift at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.

“I hate My Dark Beautiful Fantasy Like haaaaaate that album,” tweeted Ye. “I made Dark Fantasy out of fear and to prove something it was as like ‘coming back from the Taylor Swift moment’ I should have just leaned in more.”

Ye also mentioned that his top picks from the album were “Devil in a New Dress” and “Blame Game.” He then shared his regret about not having more studio time with Beyoncé and boldly stated his feelings about Jay-Z. “If I just had ten more minutes that one time in the studio with Beyoncé […] I obviously hate Jay Z,” declared the Chicago rap icon.

Among these random confessions, Ye alleged that Kris Jenner sent him, Kim Kardashian, and Ray J the contract to “shoot part 2 of the sex tape” but claimed this happened with Caitlyn Jenner present. Ye also mentioned he no longer wants to executive produce The Game’s upcoming album because Game showed support to Top 5, who the Bully rapper said threatened to kill him.

In several additional tweets, Ye claimed the Jewish community, Jay-Z, and Drake were the only people who could “afford” to have him killed. This isn’t the first time Ye has spoken negatively about Hov or that particular album.

He’s gone on multiple rants about Jay in recent times and previously, including one where he mentioned the Brooklyn rapper’s children. As for his album, Ye first expressed his dislike for it during a 2022 interview with SHOWStudio.

“You know, people extend their brand for a long time. There’s true moments of genius, then there are moments of looking through the archives and putting shit together,” he said. “So many people rate Dark Fantasy as my best album, but Yeezus and 808s are so much stronger. Dark Fantasy to me is… almost like, an apology record. ‘Power’ was the least progressive song that I’ve ever had as a first single…. least challenging.”
